DIY Earring Upcycle
Thanks for dropping in to check out this week’s DIY. We’re turning dated Earrings into one of a kind statement pieces!
For this simple project you’re going to need some old earrings, paint, glue, glitter, a paintbrush, and a sponge.
Big solid earrings work best, but if you have patience and a steady hand these techniques will work on smaller delicate pieces as well.
The first pair of earrings we jazzed up was a pair of large gold plated studs. While still cute as they are, in these days of silver and rose gold, this pair was looking a little outdated.
In what might possibly be the simplest craft we’ve explored, we gave these earrings two coats of acrylic paint, and then a fine dusting of matching glitter.
In two steps you have a brand new pair of earrings!
The next set we revitalized featured a large, flat, faux pearl centerpiece.
For this we applied our glue with a small piece of sponge to ensure an even coating, then after dusting with a light layer of silver glitter, we used another piece of sponge to pat the glitter down securely.
We ended up with a gorgeous opalescent finish that really catches the eye.
