Basic computer education
Computer education for beginners
Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan and Google have partnered to bring basic computer education to Southwest Michigan! Our instructors will guide you from the basics like turning the computer on to creating files, exploring the internet, and everything in between. All within 16 weeks!
The program explained
As a true basic computer course, Goodwill and Google are teaming up to provide education to those that have not had experience using a computer. Whether the lack of experience is due to age, income, or a lack of interest, you will leave this 16-week course with general computer operation knowledge. Our instructors will take you step by step through the processes on how to use a mouse, how to turn the computer on, how to navigate the desktop (we'll explain that too!), and how to navigate and use basic software and the internet.
- FOR TRUE BEGINNERS - This course is for the beginner that has never really experienced working with a computer before. The person that has felt too intimidated to even approach a computer and too shy to ask for help.
- GROW WITH GOOGLE - Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan and Google want to help community members become familiar with using a computer. Computer use can vastly improve quality of life!
- LAB TIME FOR PRACTICE - Want to practice what you've learned? We have a computer lab open for our students to use. Practicing new information is the best way to retain it for later use, and we want you to succeed!
