Forklift Certification Training

Barriers to employment have been our focal points when helping people find jobs. Often times forklift certification happens on the job, but what if that’s whats holding you back from getting hired? Thats where we come in.

What's Included?

Forklift Certification Process

Each trainee will complete a written and hands on assessment of information and skills learned. Upon successful completion of these assessments with a minimum score of 85% correct on the written assessment and a 100% successful check off on all operating components, the learner will receive a certificate of completion noting that they successfully accomplished the above.  The learner will also receive a Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan wallet permit card signifying their successful completion of this forklift training program.

What's Included

Topics Covered

  • New OSHA compliant training
  • Forklift Safety/Operating hazards including most common workplace accidents
  • The stability triangle (combined actions, attachments, tip-over, and what to do and not to do)
  • The pre-operation inspection (OSHA requirements)
  • Lift truck operations (loading, unloading, stacking and storage, traveling with or without a load, docks, and trailer entry)
  • Refueling (propane, electric, and gas/diesel)
  • Practical exercise in knowledge of equipment, loading and unloading, backing, turning, and traveling with a load.

Requisites

  • A schedule that allows for 1 certified trainer and 2 students per session
  • 6 hours of training which includes classroom, hands on and assessment components
  • Required trainee documents: safety and training release, mission services training intake document
  • Entire program is complete in 1 day

Schedule

  • 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Pre-Test, review of powered industrial trucks manual.
  • 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Pre-Test
  • 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Hands on forklift certification training.
  • 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. Lunch
  • 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Hands on and skills training
  • 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Post test, skills/knowledge assessment (forklift practical test), certification
